Mehdi and Kourosh met as freshmen at Cal, where they cultivated a close friendship that allowed them to launch their company more than a decade later. Their vastly different backgrounds and perspectives creates a unique partnership unlike many others.

Mehdi Star is a Partner at Net Lease Exchange and Director at Sequent REWM specializing in advanced replacement property solutions. His expertise in Single Tenant Net Lease (STNL) and the Delaware Statutory Trust allow his clients to timely meet their 1031 exchange objectives. Since 2014, Mehdi has transacted more than $500M in net lease investment sales throughout the country. He co-founded Net Lease Exchange, a platform focused on sourcing high quality net lease investment opportunities for their exchange clients. At Sequent REWM, Mehdi works with a dynamic team that offers decades of financial advisory experience to accredited investors with a focus on real estate. His role is to facilitate the acquisition of interests in Delaware Statutory Trusts for his clients involved in a 1031 tax-deferred exchange. A Bay Area native, Mehdi grew up in San Jose and later obtained his undergraduate degree from UC Berkeley, and his Juris Doctorate from the University of San Francisco School of Law. He is a licensed CA real estate agent and maintains his Series 22 and 63 securities registration.

Kourosh specializes in representing private capital buyers of net lease investments. 1031 exchange clients depend on his experience, relationships, and objective analysis of net lease investment opportunities to meet their 1031 exchange requirements. Kourosh’s background is in growing companies through scaling operations and building teams. He graduated from UC Berkeley with BS and MS degrees in Mechanical Engineering. He started his career as the first-hire at a printed electronics startup spinoff from UC Berkeley, where he scaled manufacturing from 10 units to 1,000 units per week.

Karma is a Client Services Coordinator at Net Lease Exchange. He helps with creating client deliverables, marketing materials, and day-to-day operations. Prior to working at Net Lease Exchange, Karma worked as a Lab Operator at a Biotechnology company, where he would help manage inventory and operations, along with running scientific protocols. Karma graduated with a BA from UC Santa Barbara, where he studied Communication and Sports Management.
